Mango Praises
The following is a list of just some of the ways God is answering prayers in regards to the Hospital of Hope (sent to me by a fellow missionary, Todd, who is already serving in Mango)
–Medical equipment funds. In May, [Todd] sent out a list of some of the major equipment that we needed to purchase through International Aid. God has provided in such a way that all this equipment has been ordered and is in route to Togo!
–Solar Energy. We are waiting for the final numbers, but in cautious speculation we are nearing the finish line of the fundraising for this project. All the key components for the system will soon be in route to Togo!
–The hospital and housing. There are no apparent financial barriers to opening the hospital or to establish key housing for the Hospital of Hope. We are very tight on the pharmacy budget. The initial start up stock from Europe has been ordered. Please pray that the medicines make it to Togo in a timely fashion…but not too early so to not risk the premature expiration of these drugs.
-Staffing. God has provided in the following ways for the opening of the hospital:
2 Pediatricians
1 Internist
2 Family Practice doctors
1 Family Nurse Practitioner
1 Surgeon and his family will be with us for the first 4 months
1 Physician Assistant in medicine and surgery
17 Full time Togolese nurses
10 Short-term American nurses who will be serving for 1-2 year terms
2 long-term American nurses.
1 Midwife
1 Radiology Tech
1 Pharmacist and there is the possibility of a second from New Zealand. These ladies would be training Togolese pharmacy technicians.
-We have been training and will finish the training for the nearly 35 Togolese who will be employed through the various departments of the hospital. Many of these men and women are from Mango.
-Relationships with the local people. You have been praying for years for this to happen and it is. Our team as a whole has been investing time and putting forth an intentional effort to build relationships with our community. Many of these relationships are farther along than others. We trust God that He will work out His eternal plan for their salvation and that we would be instruments that He can use for His fame and glory.
